New milestone: My paper is now the most read and cited

This is an exciting milestone for me. As of December 13th, my open access study on the Land cover and land use classification performance of machine learning algorithms in a boreal landscape using Sentinel-2 data that was published in 2020 is the most read (22,885) and most cited (101) paper in the journal GIScience & Remote Sensing (IF 6.2). I’m really glad this paper has helped so many scientists, practitioners, and students in their own classification work using satellite data. And I hope it will help many more. I’ve detailed the journey of this paper in another blog post for anyone curious about my thought process before and during the research.

As of 2021-12-13 at 10:45 CET - GIScience & Remote Sensing calculates the most read as “the cumulative total of PDF downloads and full-text HTML views from the publication date” and the most cited as “citations made in the last 3 years to all content published within the journal”.
